I Love You
subtitled:'Scuse Me While I Interupt My Tangent

Well I just thought / ‘nd you know what thought does.
How it drives you round the .. bend
/ ing things around
to come out clearly now, and say I like you any / time
D’you like me . . . as a friend?

Singing not too recent / old songs,
so many things that go
/ Oh you know,
they don’t quite work out, but ya have to smile.
And the microphones turn sideways or fall down,
’nd I sing my / interpretation / It’s just / hesitation
brings me down some
/

images of self aren’t up to / much too difficult to say /
I’ll see you in the morning / papers.
I’ll be on the
/ train, Or maybe / telephone me if you like,
You’d be embarrassed too if you were me.

[Bridge] I mean, there I was. I said "haven’t we all?"
I thought "what will I do?"
It is so much responsibility. I see you feel it too,
To be the best person I can / ’nd this guitar I love is out of /
Well just talk amongst yourselves it’s out of /
tuning it may take some time, / look do you mind I’ll just play soft, /
and will you please just listen to the words?

All the sounds of action fill my / head.
There’s always three more thoughts, ‘nd maybe
this one wasn’t clear enough. Let me just get to the
/
Oh I mean I’ve meant to tell you for some time.

Well I just thought, ‘nd you know what thought / is,
How it drives you round the twist
/ ing / things around /
to come out clearly now and tell you / I don’t think this song will ever end.
And I just thought / you know I think you feel the same, /
It’s difficult to find the best of words.
ah, now I’ve got it. . . I. . . love. . . you

A friend wanted me to write her a song,
so I used her mannerism of interrupting herself when sharing her myriad thoughts.
Of course, I find I’ve mirrored things within myself.
With thanks and love.
