Tocatta

Touch me. Here I am again and holding together.
Traveling through this icy-winded weather.
I’ve been smiling to myself, just knowing we’d be near.
Touch me. Gentle Gemini I know you love me,
And I know you’ll always be part of me.
I say, “Good to see you”, and you say, “Glad you’re here.”

And you touch me, when you dance or when you knit your brows together.
When we work, or chance to spend some hours together.
We all have our fantasies, but it’s good to have you near.
You touch me, and all the stars are falling in around me,
And every time it always does astound me.
Didn’t think I’d miss you quite as much from year to year.

Bridge:
And you know you bring out all the best in me.
With such a friend how could I ever have an enemy?

Instrumental break

And you touch me, in all your moods and many expectations.
Your animated, lengthy explanations.
Your thoughtful silences, and all your new ideas.
You touch me. Gentle Gemini I know you love me.
Life is like a snowdrift ‘til you touch me.
‘Til your memory touches, and I smile from then to here.
Didn’t think I’d miss you quite as much from year to year,
I’m not surprised I miss you so much from year to year.
